Privacy policy – Weekend w regionie
Effective from: 2026-09-29, last updated: 2026-10-06. This is a translation of the Polish privacy policy; if the two differ, the Polish version prevails.
The “Weekend w regionie” app is published by AppStorm Tomasz Jagielski, tax ID (NIP) 8681879686, which is the controller of the data described below. Contact for privacy and app matters: kontakt@appstorm.eu.
The app is independent and not affiliated with any public authority.
What data the app processes
- Device location – only while you use the app and only after you allow it, to show places nearby and to confirm visits when you tap “I’m here” or “Log visit”. Your location is processed only on the device and is not sent to AppStorm or to any app servers.
- Photos you pick – when you pick a photo to confirm a visit (“Add from photo”, “Log visit” or “Add past visits from photos”), the app reads only the place and time the photo was taken from the file, only on the device. Photos are not copied, stored or sent anywhere.
- Favorites, visited places and settings (such as the search radius) – stored only on the device, with no cloud backup. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
- A town or address you type – when you search or choose the place to search around, the text is passed to the device operating system’s geocoding service (on Android: Google) to find that place on the map.
What the app does not do
- It does not require an account and does not collect personal data.
- It contains no ads and no analytics tools (telemetry).
- It does not sell or share data with third parties.
External services
- The map is displayed by the Google Maps SDK in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
- The app downloads a public data pack about places from GitHub Pages; the request contains no user data beyond what every browser sends to a server (such as the IP address), in accordance with GitHub’s privacy statement.
- The “Navigate”, “Website” and “Share” buttons and tapping the map open other apps (such as Google Maps, a browser or email). Any further processing follows the rules of those apps.
- A message sent to the contact address or a data error report goes to AppStorm and is used only to reply and to correct the data.
Data sources
Data about places comes from open public datasets (dane.gov.pl, the GDOŚ Geoservice, the Polish Geological Institute) and OpenStreetMap; the full list with licenses is in the app, in the “More” tab.
